Dear Brothers in Service,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at St. Anthony’s! Whether you’re a returning member or joining us for the first time, we’re thrilled to have you as part of the Fathers’ Guild—a community rooted in faith, fellowship, and service.

The Fathers’ Guild is more than a volunteer organization. We are role models, mentors, and stewards of the Franciscan spirit. Through our presence at football games, school Masses, concerts, and countless other events, we show our children what it means to lead with humility, generosity, and love. Our actions—big and small—help shape the culture of St. Anthony’s and leave a lasting impression on the young men and women we support.

This year, we invite you to dive deeper into our mission. Whether you’re directing parking, helping usher at Mass, or lending a hand behind the scenes, your time and energy matter. Together, we build a legacy of service that echoes far beyond the school walls.

Let’s make this year one of connection, purpose, and fun. We look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with you as we continue to inspire our children and live out the values of St. Francis.

With gratitude and anticipation,

On February 13, 2025, St. Anthony’s Choir and Orchestra embarked on the Sant’ Agata Concert Tour and Pilgrimage of Italy. The tour lasted 10 days, with 3 concerts at local venues throughout Sicily and southern Italy.

Father’s Guild members Carolos Silva, Paul Damato, Manooj Persad, Steve Castro (Technology Officer), and Jim Leslie (Treasurer) joined the Shadow Tour parent group, which travels in parallel with the students. The tour was expertly led by Don and Susan Corrao, who have been coordinating the Shadow Tour for 25 years, and counting.

The students performed a full concert for local audiences at Acireale, Rome, and Sorrento. They also performed during Masses in Taormina, Assisi, and a special private Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City followed by a procession through the Jubilee doors. Other exciting stops on the trip included Mt. Etna, Amalfi, Pompeii, and Naples. The Shadow Tour also had a brief layover in Munich, where they enjoyed a tour of the city and Bavarian lunch.

Once again, the Concert Tour and Pilgrimage proved to be an incredible trip for both the students and parents. More importantly, it was a spiritually fulfilling experience for all involved.

We had great food, along with a 50/50 and raffles for many gift basket donated by our generous members. Several members were recognized for their dedication to the Guild, already logging in more than 50 volunteer hours in the first half of the year. We also enjoyed an incredible vocal performance from our special guest, SAHS Alumni and professional singer Caitlin Beirne (’20).

To the Members of the Father’s Guild,

Welcome to the new school year! I am so excited about the adventure that awaits our children and the opportunity to participate. The Father’s Guild, a unique volunteer service organization, is an integral part of the school community. We are dedicated to inspiring and supporting our children, and we create a place where we find fraternity in our shared values and common goals.

By participating in the football games, school Masses, concerts, and the myriad of events throughout the year, we are not just providing service. We are demonstrating to all the students how important the father’s role is in the world, and your involvement ensures that the world here at St. Anthony’s is correctly ordered toward God. Your actions have a profound impact, and you should be proud of the difference you make.

Our calendar contains over 75 events we will be participating in. I encourage each of you to participate as much as possible. Also, take part in our monthly meetings, mornings of prayer, golf outings, evenings of fun, and the many other things we do to foster friendship and camaraderie.

You have all made the right choice for your family by sending your children to St. Anthony’s. You have all made a choice to be part of this great organization; make the most of that choice by getting involved and staying involved. Your children will share four years and be Friars forever, you have the same chance: be a Father’s Guild member forever!

Thank you and God bless!

John Favilla
